Passage clé de la Suisse à l'Italie depuis des centaines d'années, le Col du Simplon abrite l'Hospice du même nom. Construit sur ordre de Napoléon Bonaparte il servit de caserne, avant d'être investi par la communauté des chanoines de l'ordre du Grand St Bernard. L'hiver, la région est un paradis pour les randonneurs en raquette et à ski. Chaque jour, vous randonnerez en raquettes dans des panoramas superbes dominés par les cimes blanches des grands sommets des Alpes. Hébergement à l'Hospice du Simplon à 2000m d'altitude, dans une ambiance montagnarde inoubliable / A key passage from Switzerland to Italy for hundreds of years, the Simplon Pass is home to the Hospice of the same name. Built by order of Napoleon Bonaparte, it served as a barracks, before being invested by the community of canons of the order of Grand St Bernard. In winter, the region is a paradise for snowshoeing and back-country skiing. Every day, you will snowshoe in superb panoramas dominated by the white peaks of the great summits of the Alps. Accommodation at the Simplon Hospice at 2000m altitude, in an unforgettable mountain atmosphere.

Détails / Details:

Jour 1 / Day 1: RDV dans l'après midi à l'Hospice du Simplon. En fonction de l'heure d'arrivée, promenade en raquette dans la plaine du col du Simplon. Après s'être imprégné de la magie des lieux, instalation à l’hospice pour la soirée / Meet in the afternoon at the Simplon Hospice. Depending on arrival time, light stroll on the simplon pass plateau. After a quiet time to feell the vibes and the magic of the place, settling-in the hospice for the evening.

Jour 2 / Day 2: Après un bon petit déjeuner préparé par les chanoines, départ pour une journée de randonnée jusqu'au Staldhorn (2462m). De de promontoire panoramique, magnifique point de vue sur la vallée du Rhone et les Alpes Bernoises. Retour à l'hospice pour la nuit / After a good breakfast prepared by the canons, departure for a full day snowshoeing to the top of the Staldhorn (2462m). From the summit we will enjoy a magnificent view on the Rhone Valley and the Bernese Alps. Return to the Hospice for the night.

Jour 3 / Day 3: Nouvelle journée de randonnée majestueuse sur un itinéraire en traversée depuis le col du Simplon pour explorer le large vallon de Rossusée. Celui-ci nous conduit en douceur jusqu'au col d’Usseri Nanxlicke (2602 m), au pied du Spitzhorli (2737 m). Retour à l’Hospice du Simplon pour la nuit / Another day of great hiking on a traversing itinirary from the Simplon pass to high valley of Rossusée. The climb will lead us gently to the pass of Usseri Nanxlicke (2602 m), at the foot of Spitzhorli (2737 m). Return to the Simplon Hospice for the night.

Jour 4 / Day 4: Après le petit déjeuner et avoir rendu nos chambres à l'hospice, départ pour notre dernière journée de randonnée jusqu'au Magehorn (2622m). En fin de journée retour en car postal et train / After breakfast and checking out at the hospice, departure for our last day of hiking up to the Magehorn (2622m). At the end of the day return by postal bus and train.

Transport: En transport publique (train + car postal) jusqu'à l'Hospice du Simplon (arrêt Simplon Hospiz). Co-voiturage possible depuis Genève (RDV à définir) / By public transport (train + postal bus) to the Simplon Hospice (Simplon Hospiz stop). Car-sharing possible from Geneva (meeting point to be decided).

Difficultés / Difficulty: R2-R3 / 11 à 13 km et 500-900m de dénivelé par jour / 11 to 13 km and 500-900m positive ascent per day. Pour bons randonneurs.euses; expèrience en raquettes requise / For fit hikers. Previous snowshoeing experience needed.

- Raquettes à neige et batons de marche - possibilités de louer des raquettes + batons pour CHF20. Merci de nous informer à l'avance / Snowshoes and walking sticks; possibility to rent snowshoes and walking sticks for an additional 20CHF. Please let us know in advance.

- DVA (Détecteur de Victime d'Avalanche) obligatoire - possibilité de louer le DVA pour CHF30. Merci de nous informer à l'avance / DVA (avalanche transceiver) is compulsory - possibility to rent the DVA for an extra 30CHF. Please let us know in advance.

Prix / Price: CHF490 ou €460.

Le prix inclus / Price includes: 3 jours de randonnée en raquette avec un accompagnateur en montagne certifié; 3 nuits à l'hospice du Simplon en demi-pension / three days snowshoeing with certified International Mountain Leader; 3 nights at the Simplon Hospice half board.

Le prix n'inclus pas / Price does not include: piquenique; dépenses personnelles; location de matériel / picnics; personnal expenses (drinks...); equipment rental.
